There was a paved path that ran beside the 148 for a short time that we opted for. From there we took the 344 to get to Laval and then onto the island of Montreal.
We had 2 mechanical issues with our bikes today. The first was in the afternoon when the screw holding up my front rack broke in half. We then had to carry my front pannier on the back rack- an easy temporary solution. The second was when Julie got a flat tire 20km from Montreal.
By the time we got to Montreal, it was dark, and Nina's parents were already in town waiting to pick her up and go back to Ottawa. We hit one crazy hill before making it to the house of our camp friend Andrew Kucer-Dougherty. Andrew is really into cycling and camping and his enthusiasm and support of our trip made us really happy.
