We woke up early, had our continental breakfast, and hit the road. We cycled all day, with a brief intermission when another rain storm broke out. There was no thunder, but the rain was so strong that it filled our shoes and panniers. We stopped and huddled with our bikes under the tarp as the rain passed. We took this opportunity under the tarp to eat our leftover pizza lunch.
Once arriving in Atikokan, we treated ourselves to a motel so that we could blow dry our shoes.
Atikokan labels itself as the canoeing capital of Canada. There are several Canoe manufacturers in town. It is also the closest town to Quetico Provincial Park, the "Algonquin of the North" a large park with many backcountry canoe routes.
